Flash Fiction Friday Challenge for 10-1-10

(Source image by Igor Shitikov)

Your challenge for this Friday, 10-1-10, is to use the photo above to write a flash fiction of 150-200 words. Here, also, is a phrase for you to use in your submission:

"...in a golden haze..."

As usual, nobody's checking word counts, or the key phrase, but you only cheat yourself if you break the rules. Unless you're breaking them to earn a spanking....in which case, see me after class.

The usual reminders apply: if you're planning on joining in the fun, please email me (insatiabear (AT) gmail [DOT] com) or leave a comment here. And please, for the love of all that's holy, include a website address if you email me, or if your commenting profile doesn't have a link to your page. It makes things a whole hell of a lot easier for me, which I'm sure you all want to do. :) If you don't let me know you're playing, or don't tell me where you can be found, I'll have to leave you off the list of participants when I post it on Friday. And nobody wants that.

Here's a button for you if you want to include that in your post. Use it to link back to the challenge post, if you like, or link to the Flash Fiction Friday FAQ if you'd rather do that. That Flash Fiction Friday FAQ is also the link you should visit if you're new to the whole FFF thing and have questions. I want everybody to enjoy this, after all.

Check back here on Friday for my take on the challenge and the list of participants, and then again on Monday for the next FFF challenge! And as always, if you have any photos or artwork you'd like to see used in an upcoming week, send them my way.

Flash Fiction Friday 9-24-10: "Office Politics"

(Source image: "Monika" from MPL Studios)

“Is there...anything...else I can help you with, sir?” Monika purred.

He looked at her, expressionlessly, picturing her in his mind's eye. Saw, as clearly as day, her perky breasts, rose-red nipples, ribcage standing out in sharp relief, smooth curve of hips, flat belly, sooty smudge of dark-blonde pubic hair already glistening with her excitement. The picture-girl bent over the desk and waggled her ass at him; defiantly, she awaited his command.

Suddenly he was tired of it, all of it. He laughed, but it came out strained, forced, rough with suppressed rage. “Monika, my dear,” he said tersely, “you're very direct, but you just don't have what it takes.”

She looked puzzled. Had she ever been rejected before? Probably not. “I don't understand.”

“You don't have a cock,” he heard himself say. And knew their comfortable dynamic was gone for good.

Her eyes went round. “I...but you're....you....ohmygod.” She swayed on her feet. “I...I'm sorry, I didn't....”

“Just get out,” he said wearily, and she fled. He swung around and stared, unseeing, out the office window.

Your challenge for today was to use the picture above and write a flash fiction of 128-188 words. Additionally, I provided a key phrase I wanted to see used somewhere in the submission:

"...defiantly, she awaited [his/her] command..."

Nobody's checking word counts, or for the key phrase, but you're only cheating yourself if you break the rules. Unless you're doing it to earn a spanking (in which case, see me after class).

The following people are participating this week. Go check out their take on this FFF, won't you, and thank 'em for playing along.

Flash Fiction Friday 9-17-10: "Deep Rising"

(Source image: "The Kiss" by Vitaly S Alexius; click for larger size)

“You're what?” she said very slowly.

“I am a water elemental, milady,” came the reply -- low, sibilant, rich and inviting.

She shook her head. “I don't believe in stuff like that.”

He chuckled appreciatively, ripples dancing, spreading outward from where he stood in the lake. “Then let me show you,” he said.

Slowly, she waded forward, almost without volition, the water lapping at her thighs now, her eyes dreaming and clouded. He flowed forward and up, rising in a vortex, gyring skyward in torrents, then cascading and settling over her. She gasped at the sensations, splashed with pure heat, feeling him slide into her, liquid gone suddenly very rigid indeed, thrusting, unutterably slick and hot. Fire and water met in crescendo at her mouth, bubbles dancing over her skin as he covered her, teasing and exciting every inch of her body.

“Yes...you are,” she sighed.

Your challenge for today was to use the picture above and write a flash fiction of 110-154 words. Additionally, I provided a key phrase I wanted to see used somewhere in the submission:

Flash Fiction Friday 9-10-10: "Exaltation"

(Source image: "Into Tub" by Kathy Slamen)

She drifted in hazy fog, caressed by gentle light, uplifted and borne by swells of warmth. Her hand worked steadily between her legs. The candles' glow was like soft benediction on her face.

Slowly it rose, the tide of pleasure within. Wavelets of ecstasy gathered at the edges of her consciousness and began sweeping inward, a tsunami impendent. She moaned as it poised high, ready to break...

...and the fucking phone rang.

Cursing, she rose unsteadily and stepped backwards out of the tub. Someone was going to pay.

Your challenge for today was to use the picture above and write a flash fiction of 60-88 words. Several people castigated me this week for the draconian word count. Muhahahahaha. Additionally, I provided a key phrase I wanted to see you use somewhere in the submission:

"...the candles' glow was like..."

Nobody's checking word counts, or for the key phrase, but you're only cheating yourself if you break the rules. Unless you're doing it to earn a spanking (in which case, see me after class).

Flash Fiction Friday 9-3-10: "The Flame Within"

(Source image: "Samba Beat 2" by Toon Stalpers).

The beat pulsed like a living thing, pounding in the blood, vibrating the senses, thrumming along every exposed nerve. Out on the dancefloor she whirled like a dervish, the cynosure of every man's eye. A wisp of a girl, one you could have taken for a mere teenager if not for the language her body spoke so eloquently. This was pure woman, moving with complete awareness of her body, its uses, and its effects on others. She smiled secretly to herself, feeling their stares, and threw back her head as she turned up the flame to full burn.

She swayed and spun to the rhythm, hips undulating, torso gyrating, breasts heaving. Sweat coated her in a fine mist, giving her a look as if she'd been dipped in oil. Economy and precision; passion, grace and fire. Every artful angle of her limbs, every step to the frantic beat, every slow pulse of her hips, every motion of hand and wrist and thigh and shoulder – it all spoke almost unbearably of sensuality beyond comprehension, a flame that could scorch anyone to ashes....or, phoenixlike, make them reborn.

Eyes shut tight, she spun and twisted her way into their fantasies, the music passing over and through her, carrying her away, bubbling in her blood. The flame within burned brightly, a living torch in the night.

Your challenge for today was to use the picture above and write a flash fiction of 150-180 words. Additionally, I provided a key phrase I wanted to see used somewhere in the submission:

"...passion, grace and fire..."

I broke my own rules this week, going about forty words over the count, so you folks get to decide what sort of punishment I'm due. Eh? :)

The following people let me know they're participating this week. Go check out their take on this FFF, won't you, and thank 'em for playing along.
